3 prison guards suspended

Gonda, Apr 7 (UNI) Three prison guards were suspended today after a raid in the juvenile home adjacent to the district prison here led to the recovery of several banned and illegal objects.

On Thursday, on a tip-off, a team led by district magistrate Uday Pratap Singh and Superintendent of Police Laxmi Singh raided the jail and seized several objectionable objects, including pshychotropic substances.

Chief prison guard Raj Bahadur, prison guards Ram Bahadur Verma and Shiv Prasad Verma have been suspended with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, Nandu, who was found present in the juvenile home at the time of raid, has been arrested.
