3 killed, 11 injured in explosion

Chennai, Apr 7 (UNI) Three people were charred to death and 11 injured when a cracker-laden three-wheeler exploded during a temple festival at Gudiyatham in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu late last night.

Reports received at the police headquarters here said a spark from a fireworks display fell on the auto carrying crackers.

This led to the explosion, killing three people inside the auto on the spot. Eleven others standing nearby were injured and admitted to a hospital.

The police have registered a case and investigation was on.
