Withdraw BJP's recognition, register cases for displaying CD: Paswan
New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) Lok Janshakti Party leader and union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today demanded that the recognition of Bhartiya Janata Party be withdrawn and its leaders be tried for treason for releasing a CD containing 'objectionable' remarks against Muslims.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Paswan said that the Election Commission has already issued notice to the BJP for the CD, but cases should be registered against the producers of the controversial CD and those BJP leaders who showed it with enthusiam.
When it was said that the BJP has sought to dissociate itself from the controversial CD saying that it was not approved by any of its leaders, Mr Paswan noted that the producer of the CD has said that it was approved even by the BJP President Rajnath Singh and senior leader Kesri Nath Tripathi.
''Moreover, many BJP leaders were shown on electronic media showing the CD,'' he pointed out and demanded that legal action be taken against all of them.
When it was pointed out that many political parties had used images of Godhra earlier for various elections, Mr Paswan said that the LJP had never used them and wherever the other political parties had done so, the Election Commission had taken them to task.
