Tribal University students unhappy with MU vice-chancellor

Imphal, Apr 6 (UNI) The Manipur University Tribals Students Union has condemned the attitude of the Manipur University Vice-chancellor.

Union president Haotinkhup Haokip said the University staff did not allow the tribal students to meet the VC even after repeated requests.

It was charged that the non-tribals had no problem in entering the VC's room.

A meeting has been called on April 9 at Manipur University to discuss the matter.

Officials said the students were asked to meet with the Registrar and Finance Officer to discuss their problems to which the students objected.

The President of the Union said the VC could have used his personal staff or the telephone to call the officials and they were denied permission to meet the VC on several grounds.
