Tamil Nadu: Burglars rob valuables from house

Chennai, Apr 6: Unidentified burglars took away 26 sovereigns of gold ornaments, some silver vessels and cash of Rs two lakh after entering the house of a lorry driver by removing the window grille at suburban Tiruvotriyur last night.

Police said the driver Adityan and his family members were fast asleep in the adjacent room, when the miscreants entered the house and broke open the steel almirah and escaped with the valuables.
