Student drowned in Hoogly river

Barrackpore, Apr 06 (UNI) A school student was feared drowned in river Hooghly at Dakshineshwar under Belgharia police station in North 24 Parganas today, police said.

The disaster management authorities and the river traffic police have already conducted an operation to search for the victim.

The victim, Rinkesh Kumar(15), had come here with Madhya Pradesh Sainik School team from Rewa to visit Dhakineshwar.

Rinkesh drowned while taking bath in the river this afternoon along with his freinds, sources said.

Police said altogether 72 students guided by three teachers had come here to visit the city and adjoining tourists spots including Belur Math and Dakshineshwar here.
