Indore, Apr 6 (UNI) The National Scheduled Tribes Commission has directed the Madhya Pradesh government to conduct an inquiry following a complaint alleging that reservation rules were broken while making appointments to the National Water Harvesting Area Management Mission.

Referring to Congress MLA Premchand Guddu's complaint, Commission Joint Secretary Kashinath Singh directed Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahni to inform it of the action taken, within a fortnight.

In a letter to the Commission Deputy Chairman Gajendra Singh Rajukhedi, Mr Guddu said, ''The ST roster was not followed while appointing the Mission's Project Coordinator and Project Officer on contract basis. Despite repeated reminders by the Congress, reservation rules were placed on the backburner.'' UNI
