Soz asks Election Commission to derecognise: BJP

New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and Water Resources Minister Prof Saifuddin Soz today urged the Elction Commission to "derecognise the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) for fomenting communal trouble through circulation of a controversial CD.

In a statement here, he said the Election Commission should take immediate decision to stop the BJP from fomenting trouble in the country the first step in this direction would be to derecognise the party, Prof Soz, who is also the Congress Working Committee(CWC) member stated that the UPA government was committted to implementing the Sachar Committee recomendation to eradicate socio-economic backwardness of the minorities.

The Minister also campaigned for the congress candidates in Uttar Pradesh. He visited Kanpur, Agra and other cities and addressed a number of rallies.

He said the government has taken a number of steps for the uplift of minorities and earmarked a huge funds for implementation of the Sachar Committee recommendation.
