Six member rowdy gang held, lethal weapon seized

Chennai, Apr 6 (UNI) Police arrested a six- member rowdy gang at a private lodging house near the Chennai Central railway station here and seized a large number of lethal weapons from a room they had hired.

Police said yesterday, acting on a tip off, a police party rounded them up in the lodging house and arrested Bhaskar, Ashok, Prakash, Venkatesan, Senthilkumar and Ravi, hailing from North Chennai area.

Preliminary enquiries revealed that the gang was preparing to rob a jeweller from Kerala, who was expected to arrive in the city today.

Further investigation was on.
