SAARC Car Rally reaches Mumbai
Mumbai, Apr 5 (UNI) The SAARC Car Rally arrived here today from Udaipur and the rallysts were received by Mumbaikars at the historic Gateway of India.
An intitaive of the SAARC countries for enhancing friendship, harmony, peace and trade in the subcontinent, the SAARC Rally had been flagged off from Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh on March 13. It will conclude at Maldives on April 14.
''There are 26 rallysts who have arrived here from Delhi, while two dropped out at Delhi as they participated only in a certain leg of the rally,'' said one of the organisers in Mumbai.
The rallysts will fly to Pune tomorrow where they will visit TATA's factory, and from there will fly to Colombo to commence their further journey. Their cars will be sent to Colombo by boats.
In the Rally, India is being represented by Col Chauhan, while Pakistan is being led by Mr Ehtesham.
