Rains likely in NE states, WB, Kerala

Pune, Apr 6 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Orissa, Jammu and Kashmir, south Konkan and Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andman and Nicobar Islands.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat state, north Konkan, north Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana and Rayalseema.

Very light rains have occurred at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura.

Heavy rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Assam and Meghalaya and at few places in Arunachal Pradesh and at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and Tamil Nadu. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat state, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala.

Severe heat wave conditions prevailed in coastal Saurashtra and heat wave conditions also prevailed in south Gujarat region, Kutch and at isolated places in north Madhya Maharashtra and north interior Karnataka and in remaining parts of Saurashtra.

Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Uttarakhand, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, north Gujarat region, Konkan and Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh and in some parts of Tamil Nadu and of coastal and south interior Karnataka and in remaining parts of north Madhya Maharashtra and of north interior Karnataka and were above normal in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand, Bihar, Punjab, Telangana and Rayalseema. They were appreciably below normal in remaining parts of Assam and Meghalaya. They were normal over the rest of the country.
