Petty dispute turns communal, 6 hurt

Varanasi, Apr 6 (UNI) Six people, including a woman were hurt when a petty dispute turned into a communal clash in Jaitpura area here today.

Police said a handloom weaver Junaid had given his weaving equipment for repair to a mechanic Pramil in Jaitpura some days ago.

The weaver went to Pramil's shop this afternoon to get it back, but Pramil's son Kallu refused to give the equipment to Junaid in his father's absence.

An altercation followed between Kallu and Junaid. The condition worsened as it turned into a communal clash with groups from the two communities indulging in brick batting.

Six people including Saroj Devi, Kallu, Chhotu, Raj Kumar, Mukhtalif and Khursheed were injured in the clash and have been admitted at the district hospital.

Getting the information about the incident police rushed to the spot and prevented the incident from worsening further.
