Lucknow, Apr 6 (UNI) Apna Dal, contesting the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls in alliance with BJP, today demanded action against the Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav for violation of election model code of conduct.

In a release here, National General secretary and spokesperson of Apna Dal, Pradeep Srivastava alleged that despite the code of conduct being in force the UP CM was making announcements to influence the voters. The announcements made by Mr Yadav were clearly in violation of the conduct and the Election Commission (EC) should intervene in this matter,he said.

The allegation of Apna Dal came on the day, the EC in New Delhi had issued notice against Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav for violation of the election code during his election campaign in Lalitpur on March 30 last.

Outrightly rejecting the CM's assurance to provide employment to youths within one hour of his government was sworn in, the Apna Dal leader said if the SP government could not do it during its three-year term then how could it do it in an hour.

Claiming that the meeting of BJP President Rajnath Singh and senior BJP leader Kalyan Singh in which the Apna Dal President Sone Lal Patel was also present had attarcted large crowds in Bundelkhand region, he said. ''It must have caused uneasiness to the ruling dispensation hence the CM was making announcements in a haste.
