K C Belliappa appointed VC of RG University in Itanagar

Mysore, Apr 6 (UNI) Prof K C Belliappa, Professor of English in University of Mysore has been appointed the first Vice Chancellor of the Rajiv Gandhi University in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.

His appointment announced by the Department of Higher Education Union Ministry of Human Resource Development is for five years and comes into effect on April nine.

Born on April 10, 1950 Prof Belliappa did his masters in literature from Mysore University and earned his doctoral degree from the same University.

He had been the Professor of English for more then 35 years and written a number of books. He also served as a member coordinator of the NAAC Peer Committee in Maharastra and had been a member of the UGC to award research grants. He was also the AICTE representative on the governing body of Rustamji Institute of Technology, Gwalior.
