IFFCO targets to sale 90 lk mt fertilizer in 07-08
Tirupati, Apr 6: The Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) has targeted to sell 90 lakh metric tonne of fertilizer to farmers through cooperative stores across the dountry during 2007-08.
Informing this at a press conference here today, IFFCO Director D K Bhatt today said the company had sold 86 lakh mt of fertilizer last year.
He said during the financial year, the company achieved a sales turnover of Rs 11,000 crore, registering a five per cent growth over last year.
In a record sales nine lakh mt fertilser were supplied to farmers this year, against seven lakh mt last year in the entire south zone, he said adding fertilser were sold to farmers through the 63,000 cooperative points in the country.
The fertiliser plant acquired by IFFCO at Paradeep in Orissa produced 20 lakh mt of complex fertiliser like DPA for the benefit of Andhra farmers, Mr Bhat, who inagurated the two-day inservice training programme for South India IFFCO officers said.
