Four sentenced RI for possessing ganja
Rajkot, Apr 6 (UNI) A local court here has sentenced two persons to ten years rigorous imprisonments while two others were awarded five years imprisonment for possesing ganja (Hemp).
Fast Track Court Judge F Y Ganchi yesterday pronounced his verdict in which four were found guilty.
According to prosecution, the accused -- Vallabh Narasaya, Nalla Cheralla, Gamaya Ravi and Ariram Babu were arrested by the police from slum quarters here in Jamnagar road area and recovered ganja from them valued at about Rs two lakh on March 14, last year. Police had arrested them under the Narcotics Act.
Acting on a tip off, police party had raided the slum quarters and recovered 46 kgs ganja from Vallabh Narasaya and Ariram Babu while 21 kgs was recovered from Nalla Cheralla and Gamaya Ravi.
Vallabh Narasaya and Ariram Babu were awarded ten years rigorous imprisonments and fined rs one lakh each.
While Nalla Cheralla and Gamaya Ravi were awarded five years sentence and fined of rs 25000 each.
