Former Delhi LG dies following heart attack
New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) Former Delhi Lt Governor Markandey Singh passed away this afternoon following heart seizure at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences here.
A former IPS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, 81-year-old Singh died at about 1345 hrs at the ICU of AIIMS where he was admitted on Sunday following cardiac arrest, according to family sources.
He is survived by his wife, daughter and son Harshvardhan who is the Deputy Director General of the World Trade Organisation at Geneva.
Singh retired from service in 1985.
He was Lt Governor of Delhi for 16 months from December 1990.
