EC to use helicopter to track polling in Ph I

Lucknow, Apr 6 (UNI) Keeping a close watch on the crucial Phase-I polling in Uttar Pradesh tomorrow in 62 assembly seats, Election Commission has deputed a senior official to visit booths on a helicopter.

Deputy Election Commissioner J P Prakash along with some senior police officials will go from place to place to monitor the polling process tomorrow between 0700 hrs and 1700 hrs.

State chief electoral officer (CEO) Anuj Kumar Bishnoi said here that Mr Prakash can go to any polling booth during his day long monitoring.

This will be first time that any EC officials will track the polling process by a helicopter.
