EC charges Mulayam with violating Code of Conduct,seeks explanatio

New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) The Election Commission today issued a notice to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, charging him with violating the model code of conduct.

Mr Yadav has also been charged with violating Section 123 of the Representation of People Act, while campaigning in Lalitpur on March 30. The EC has sought his explanation by 1000 hrs on April 8, according to EC sources.
