Construction worker killed in building collapse

Mysore, Apr 6 (UNI) In a tragic incident, a construction worker was killed on the spot when a large chunk of the canopy of a dilapidated building fell on him at Nanjumalige extension in the city today.

Police said that Kariappa (48) had gone to a public tap near the building to drink water when the tragedy struck. The unoccupied building, with five shops on the ground floor and a few rooms in the first floor, was in a totally dilapidated condition.

The body has been sent for postmortem.
