Centre happy over rural development in the state
Agartala, Apr 06 (UNI) The Union Rural Development Ministry has expressed its happiness over the Tripura's developmental activities in rural areas and awarded the state for its success on this front.
State Rural Development Minister Jitendra Chowdhury said the Centre this time also awarded the state for its sucess in the rural development and sanctioned an additional amount of Rs 10,83,72,000 as award.
The credit goes to the three-tier panchayat, ADC village and to the rural people where developmental work had taken place.
Each paise of the additional fund would be spent for the welfare of the people, the Minister said and criticised the main opposition Congress leaders for their allegations against the state government for non-utilisation of various centrally sanctioned funds for development schemes.
The cental government observers and various organisations who made an on the spot study in Dhalai district, where REGA was introduced first in the state last year, expressed their satisfaction and awarded the state for the rural development works.
