Cauvery agitators set deadline to Union government

Mysore, Apr 5 (UNI) The Cauvery Raitha Hitha Rakshna Samithi, spare heading the Cauvery agitation has set a deadline of April 15 for the Union Government to set right the injustice meted to Karnataka in the final verdict of Cuavery Water Disputes Tribunal.

Samithi President G Made Gowda, told newsmen at Mandya, after holding a meeting of Samithi members and agitating farmers, said the Samithi would intensify agitation after April 15 if the Union Government did not come out with a solution.

Meanwhile, the agitation by the farmers and Pro Kannada Organizations in Cauvery Basin district continued and entered 60th day.

The relay hunger strike by the Samithi members at Mandya Silver Jubilee Park, Maddur, Pandavapura and Srirangapatna in the district.

Central Government Pensioners' Association Mysore city staged a silent protest against the verdict. Later they submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner.
