Born out of wedlock infants abandoned
Dubai, Apr 6 (UNI) Of the nearly 144 infants abandoned here in the past seven years most were from foreign parents born out of wedlock, an official said.
This number is lower than other Emirates as well as Saudi Arabia, where around 450 babies are abandoned annually.
Speaking to Emirates Today, the official said the abandoned babies aged between a few weeks to seven-months left at the doorstep of mosques or houses, may obtain UAE citizenship and protection.
