BJP will retain Jalgaon, Erandol LS seats: Munde

Jalgaon, Maharashtra, Apr 6 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary Gopinath Munde today claimed that the BJP will retain the Jalgaon and Erandol Lok Sabha constituencies which will witness by-polls on April 9.

Mr Munde, while speaking to reporters here this evening, said the Congress has no issues and is, therefore, harping on ''corruption of the BJP MPs''. The by-polls in Jalgaon and Erandol, incidentally, have been necessitated following the resignation of Mr Y G Mahajan and Mr M K Anna Patil who were trapped in a ''cash-for-query'' sting operation.

Mr Munde has been campaigning for the BJP candidates in both these constituencies since the past three days.

The Congress had raised the bogey of corruption during the zilla parishad elections also, but the voters had still extended their support to the BJP, Mr Munde said.

The main issues, however, are that of inflation, power shortage and the development of the Khandesh region, Mr Munde said while adding that the Congress has no answer to these issues.
