Assocham to hold 'Salaam India Expo' in Singapore

New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) Industry chamber Assocham in association with ZAK Trade Fairs will organise a five-day 'Salaam India Expo' in Singapore from August 15.

The fair will showcase Indian industry's strength in Asean region in which over 200 companies from engineering, auto components, oil and gas, biotech, real estate, agricultural products and processed food, software&IT, apparel and textiles will participate.

The Expo will unveil opportunities available for Indian companies to export their products and services to Asean region.

Indo-Asean trade in 2004 was about 13.25 billion dollars and it has become fifth most important trading partner of India.

Singapore Tourism Board and Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce would also support the event to bring Asean particularly Singapore very close to India.

India's exports to Asean include gems and jewellery, meat and meat preparations, cotton yarn, fabrics, made-ups, engineering goods, transport equipment, machinery and instruments, electronic goods, marine products, drugs &pharmaceuticals, chemicals etc. UNI
