AIADMK leader demands Pondy CM resignation
Puducherry,
Apr
6:
AIADMK
state
secretary
A
Anbazhagan,
MLA,
today
sought
the
resignation
of
Chief
Minister
N
Rangasamy
for
failing
to
implement
schemes
announced
in
the
last
budget.
It
was
improper
on
the
part
of
Chief
Minister,
who
had
already
announced
financial
assistance
to
tsunami-affected
fishermen
for
construction
of
houses
to
back
out
after
Union
Home
Minister
Shivaraj
Patil
raised
objections.
This
amounted
to
'cheating'
the
fishermen,
he
said
at
a
press
conference
here.
The
government
was
trying
to
escape
by
putting
the
blame
on
the
two
parliament
members
from
Puducherry,
he
said
adding
if
the
Lt
Governor
was
posing
a
stumbling
block,
the
Chief
Minster
should
contact
the
Congress
high
command
and
take
steps
to
recall
him.
Mr
Anbazhagan
threatened
that
if
the
administration
failed
to
implement
the
schemes
announced
for
the
fishermen,
the
AIADMK,
in
consultation
with
the
fishermen
panchayats
would
organise
agitations
here.
Alleging
that
the
proceedings
of
the
legislative
assembly
was
not
being
done
in
a
constructive
manner,
the
AIADMK
leader
said
questions
pertaining
to
important
issues
like
law
and
order
situation
were
being
postponed
and
wondered
whom
the
administration
was
trying
to
protect.
