Admin should announce stand on Cauvery Issue: AIADMK

Puducherry, Apr 6 (UNI) AIADMK state Secretary A Anbazhagan, MLA today demanded that the territorial administration should announce it's stand on the final verdict of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal.

Addressing a press conference here, he said in the ongoing legislative assembly session Chief Minister N Rangasamy should present a detailed report on the issue.

He said the administration had sought 9.2 TMC ft of cauvery water and six tmc was awarded in the interim order. However, it was announced as 7 TMC in the final verdict, he added.

He alleged that the administration had not taken any initiatives so far to procure water, which was an act of cheating the Karaikal farmers.

He said the AIADMK would observe a fast in Karaikal tomorrow pressing for the notification of the final verdict in the government gazette.
