Actor inaugurates all India craft bazaar

Chennai, Apr 6 (UNI) Popular actress Kirthi Chawla today inaugrated the 16-day craft bazaar exhibition-cum sales of handicrafts and handlooms products in the city.

Speaking at the expo, the filmstar hailed the efforts of the organisors by bringing enchanting handicrafts and handloom goods from different parts of the country under one roof.

Mr Ashok Sharma, organiser of the exhibition, said in a press release that this prestegious event would be an ideal platform to gauge the mood and trends of the market and forge new relationship and partnership to take the art and crafts to new frontiers.

The artistic materials showcased at the exhibition were made of sheesam wood, carvings, statues of god and goddess. There was a range of special non-stick kitchenware items made out of sheesam wood from Uttar Pradesh. Apart from other items, leather purses, belts, dress materials from Punjab with wide range of designs and different work, 200 wall hangings, terracotta statues and other clay made idols rom Kolkata were up for sale in the craft bazaar, he added.
