12-hour bandh in districts in support of Delimitation

Kohima, Apr 06 (UNI) The various students' union of Nagaland have decided to support a 12-hour bandh in Wokha, Peren, Kiphire, Longleng and Tseminyu area under Kohima district on April 12 in support of Delimitation.

The meeting held yesterday constituted a body christened as "Confederation of Phom, Sangtam, Lotha, Zeliangrong and Rengma Students' Union on Delimitation Implementation(CoPSLRZSU-ODI).

The meeting agreed upon to congratulate the Joint Action Committee on Delimitation for their successful trip to Delhi to meet the Delimitation Comission of India. It also decided to appreciate and honour all those legislators of the gaining tribes who have come out openly to support the total implementation of the Delimitation Act, 2002 and further call upon every one to support the movement.

The meeting, further agreed upon to fall support and participate in the rally tomorrow, called by the Joint Action Committee on Delimitation implementation.

The meeting also resolved to call for 12-hour bandh in four districts of Wokha, Peren, Kiphire and Longleng and Tseminyu area of Kohima district on april 10 and appealed to all students unions to coordinate with CoPSLRZSU-ODI during the bandh.

Meanwhile, the state government yesterday finalized the draft proposal for readjustment of Assembly Constituencies within the districts and the same will be submitted to the Delimitation Commission on April 10.
