Violation of model code in Rahul's roadshow: Cases lodged

Agra, Apr 5 (UNI) The district administration has lodged cases against three senior Congress leaders for alleged violation of model code of conduct during the roadshow of party MP Rahul Gandhi here yesterday.

Cases have been registered against former MLA Azad Kumar Kardam, Shabbir Abbas and Congress assembly poll candidate Ram Tandon.

The trio have been charged with using loudspeakers and displaying flags and banners in public places during the roadshow, which is prohibited under the model code.

The alleged violation occurred, when Rahul reached Agra yesterday as part of his roadshow and the party leaders and activists threw cautions to the wind in their enthusiasm.

Besides, similar cases were also lodged against some BJP leaders.
