Two water projects by JMC will complete next month
Jamnagar, Apr 5 (UNI) Two water projects undertaken by the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation (JMC) are expected to get completed by next month for providing daily water supply to its citizens.
Municipal Commissioner Kaushikbhai N Bhatt today said after the completion of the two water projects, built at an appropriate cost of Rs 38 crore, the citizens will get water supply daily from the corporation.
Even after getting water from Narmada Canal, Municipal Corporation is now in a position to supply water to the citizens on alternate days, contrary to the earlier position when the water was supplied after every three to four day's interval.
Mr Bhatt said the JMC had received a national award for water projects from Indian Society for Trenchless Technology (IndSTT), constituted under Ministry of Urban Development, in a seminar held on March 28 at New Delhi.
The entries were sought by IndSTT for those who are doing exemplarary work using various technologies in urban development in which 150 entries have received by them from across the nation. JMC had also sent nomination for the work of pipeline network and master plan on water works technology, which received the award for the first time, he added.
The institute conducts research in new technology in water storage, underground drinage, cable work and tunneling and also holds seminars regularly.
