Trainee IAS officers to study UP polls
Lucknow, Apr 5 (UNI) About 90 probationary Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officers receiving training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Administrative Academy at Mussoorie, Uttarakhand will be present in the first phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh on April 7.
'' These trainee IAS officers of 2006 batch will get the first hand knowledge of the polling process in Agra division on April 7'', said state additional CEO Devesh Chaturvedi here yesterday.
The probationary IAS officers will move in groups and they can also report to the Election Commission(EC) if their is any irregularities during the polling.
These IAS trainees will cover four districts of Etah, Agra, Mainpuri and Firozabad during their 'study tour', Mr Chaturvedi said.
Meanwhile, the EC will also engage 100 ' micro observers' drawn from state level officials of Uttarakhand to monitor the polling process in Phase-I. Surprisingly these ' micro observers' will also be deployed in Agra division to oversee the polling process.
