Registrar of stamps suspended
Kurnool, Apr 5 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government has suspended Ramana Murthy, Registrar of Stamps and Registration, for taking bribe to do an official favour.
Sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) raided his office on February and seized Rs 30,000 in cash and some incriminating documents from his possession.
Mr Murthy told ACB officials that he did not know about the money and tried to convince them that some unidentified persons might have dropped it in his table drawer.
However, during the investigation, ACB officials found that the money was taken by Murhty as bribe and gave a report to the government to that effect. After considering the report, the government has issued suspension orders.
