NDFB bandh paralyses life in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar, Apr 5 (UNI) Life was severely affected following the 24-hour Kokrajhar district bandh today, called by the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) against the arrest of two of its cadre.

No untoward incident had been reported yet during the bandh hours that started from 0500 hrs.

All educational institutions, banking services and business establishments remained closed.

Vehicles remained off the roads and long distance buses were also stranded due to the bandh.

However, rail traffic was not disrupted.

The NDFB, presently in ceasefire with the government, had called the bandh to protest the arrest of two of its cadres by Fakiragram police on April third for alleged anti-social activities.

The NDFB claimed that its cadres were arrested on false charges when they were on way to discharge their official functions.
