Meghalaya: Mukherjee to deliver key-note address

Shillong, Apr 5: Union External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee is visiting Shillong on a day-long visit on April 14 to deliver a key-note address at a seminar on ''SAARC&BIMSTEC: Geography as an Opportunity'' under the aegis of the North Eastern Hill University, Shillong.

As India is assuming the Chairmanship of SAARC in April 2007, Mr Mukherjee will be speaking on SAARC-BIMSTEC relationship in its various facets as relating to the North Eastern States. The Minister would chair an interactive session on issues pertaining to North East Region.

The seminar is being organised by the Public Diplomacy Division of the Ministry of External Affairs.
