Mizo Governor axes Lai district council

Aizawl, Apr 5 (UNI) Mizoram governor Lt Gen (Rtd) M M Lakhera has imposed Governor's Rule in the Lai Autonomous District Council(LADC) following resignation of its chief executive member F Manghnuna.

Official sources here today said Lawngtlai deputy commissioner C Ralkapa had taken over the charge of the LADC from yesterday for one month.

The ruling MNF members had accused Mr Manghnuna with the case of misappropriation of development funds, which compelled him to resign. Mr Manghnuna(Independent), had been supported by the MNF legislature party.

The council's chairman C Thanghluna had been proposed as the next CEM by the ruling council members.
