Man burns wife to death

Madurai, Apr 5 (UNI) An alcoholic person burnt his 32-year-old wife, enraged over his wife questioning his wayward behaviour at Palanganatham here.

Police said the man, Jeyabalan (34), poured kerosene on his wife, Malarvizhi, who was sleeping in the house late last night and set fire on her. She ran out of the house in flames and neighbours rushed her to the Government Rajaji Hospital.

She died of burns this morning at the hospital. The couple had a 13-year-old daughter, police added.

The Andalpuram police arrested the culprit, who had fled the scene after the incident, and registered a case.
