Life term for eight in murder case in Bihar

Patna, Apr 5 (UNI) A Sessions court here today awarded life imprisonment to eight people in a murder case.

Additional district and sessions judge of Patna Brajendra Kumar Shrivastwa found Hareram Rai, Jagganath Rai, Jagarnath Rai, Ramladdu Rai, Jairam Rai, Darbari Rai, Kalyan Rai and Kamta Rai guilty of killing Rudal Rai of Hetampur village under Shahpur police station in Patna district.

The Judge also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 against the convict Hareram Rai.

According to the charges, victim Rudal Rai was shot dead by the convicts under Akilpur police station of the Patna district on July 25, 1998.

The reason behind the killing was said to be a land dispute.
