Jharkhand assembly adjourned sine die
Ranchi, Apr 5 (UNI) The month long budget session in Jharkhand was adjourned sine die today.
The session began on March 2 and the budget for the new fiscal was laid on March 19.
Amid opposition boycott, the budget was passed by voice vote after guillotine on March 22.
The opposition protested vehemently against the business advisory committee's decision to reduce the tenure by five days on the pretext of March 29 by-election to Palamu parliamentray seat and allotment of only one day for the debate on budget and its passage.
Among the major bills passed during the session were Jharkhand State University Amendment Bill, 2007 and Agriculture Produce Market Amendment Bill.
The killing of JMM general secretary and Jamshedpur MP Sunil Mahto on March 4 by the naxals also featured prominently during variuos debates in the house.
