Hyderabad Unit achieves record turnover

Hyderabad, Apr 5 (UNI) Riding on strong operating performance of 2005-06, the Hyderabad Unit, one of the 14 manufacturing Units of Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL) posted a record turnover of Rs 2860 Crore and Profit before tax of Rs 630 crore in 2006-2007 and plans a total business of Rs 3600 crore in the current year.

Addressing a press conference, the Chief Executive of BHEL, Hyderabad G V Rami Reddy said the robust order book position of Hyderabad Unit standing at Rs 6000 crore as on March 31, including 19 per cent of repeat orders, reflects the confidence reposed by the Customers on the quality of Products and Services provided by BHEL.

Continuing with its quest to be a leading Global player, the Unit's thrust on exports is yielding results with an influx of order from France, Sudan, Iraq and Bangladesh.

The order from France, for supply of Compressor train, represents a breakthrough into European market. The Unit is already having a strong presence in the Middle East, with a number of sets being erected in Oman.
