Hema Malini to get 'Aadishakti' award

Mumbai, Apr 5 (UNI) Veteran Bollywood actress Hema Malini has been chosen for the Aadishakti Award constituted by Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Smruti Pratishtan.

Managing Trustee of Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Smruti Pratisthan Pt Hridaynath Mangeshkar, while making the announcement yesterday, said Ms Hema Malini will receive the award for her service to Indian cinema.

Ms Malini will receive the award from noted singer Lata Mangeshkar in Pune on April 24. The award would consist of a momento and a cash prize of Rs 50,000.

Ustad Sultan Khan, on the other hand, will receive the Master Deenanath award for classical music. The Vagvilasani award for literature would be given to Sarojini Vaidya. Anandmayee Puraskar for social services would be given to Vijay Phalnikar and Mr Bhalchandra Pendharkar will receive Master Deenanath award for drama and theater.

A new award category started from this year after late Shanta Shelke will be given to poet Sudhir Moghe.
