Habitual offender from Uttaranchal killed in Nagpur

Nagpur, Apr 5 (UNI) Police today gunned down a habitual offender from Uttaranchal when he tried to resist arrest at a hotel here.

Sangram Singh, along with some accomplices, was holed up in a city hotel for the past few days. A team of Uttaranchal Police, which had come to the city to arrest him, raided the hotel along with local crime branch sleuths early today to nab the offender and his accomplices, police said.

During the raid, Singh opened fire, injuring one policeman. In the ensuing encounter, Singh was injured. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead before admission, police added.
