Gujarat Chapter of NSC established

Jamnagar, Apr 5 (UNI) Gujarat Labour and Employment Minister Mulubhai Bera today said with the vast industrial development in the state, safety, health and pollution like issues required a renewed attention from all parties concerned.

Addressing the inaugural function of National Safety Council (NSC) here, he said setting up of the Gujarat Chapter of NSC was the need of the hour to create safety and health awareness among factory owners, labourers, trade unions.

He assured all assistance on behalf of the state government in raising safety standard of the people.

Parimal Nathwani, Group President of Reliance Industries, who was chosen as Gujarat Chapter Chairman of NSC emphasized the need of health and safety not only for industry but in the society as a whole.

Reliance Industries is committed towards health and safety of workers, employees besides the people residing around its establishments.

Director General of NSC K G Gupta, in his address, said with the opening of Gujarat Chapter of NSC, a new era of safety drive has begun adding that there were 15 chapters working across the country.

Inspired by then President of India Dr S Radhakrishnan, NSC, formed on March 4, 1966, is engaged in dissemination of safe work practice in every sphere of life for betterment of society.
