ESC signs MoU with Germany's Hannover Impuls Gmbh

New Delhi, Apr 5 (UNI) Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ECS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Germany-based Hannover Impuls Gmbh (hi), promoting ICT start-up business enterprises.

The MoU will provide for exchange of information, promoting exchanges of delegation preparation of joint publications, organisation of trade fairs and encouraging participation of each others' members, organising seminars identifying potential partners and facilitating their handholding.

''The MoU confirms the common desire of ECS and hi to maintain further mutual cooperation and understanding for promoting investment and development of business relations between India and Germany in the field of ICT,'' said Mr D K Sareen, Executive Director, ECS.

Mr Sareen said this should be seen against the backdrop of increasing cooperation between Indian and Germany in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector.

India's ICT exports to Germany in 2005-06 were 343 million dollars. Significantly, more and more German companies are setting up their operations in India in ICT and manufacturing segments.

There are also emerging opportunities for outsourcing from Germany into India, he added.

''We shall be leveraging success of the existing tie-ups for outsourcing and technical cooperation between India and German IT companies for handholding more companies from both countries in ICT sector,'' Mr Sareen stated.

The agreement was signed by Mr Sareen and Hannover Impuls Gmbh Managing Director Andreas Heyer at CeBIT 2007 in Hannover, Germany.
