DMK student wing stages demo

Chennai, Apr 5 (UNI) The DMK students wing of Dr Ambedkar Government Law College led by former Rajya Sabha MP Tiruchy Siva today staged a demonstration here protesting against the Supreme Court stay on 27 per cent reservation for OBCs in higher educational institutions.

Later, talking to newspersons, Mr Siva said the Supreme Court should not interfere in the reservation issue, which was passed by Parliament.

He urged the Centre to convene a joint session of the Parliament to take necessary steps to lift the Supreme Court stay on reservation and ensure implementation of reservation from the next academic year.
