Congress urges EC to derecognise BJP

New Delhi, Apr 5 (UNI) The Congress today asked the Election Commission to derecognise the BJP as a political party and prevent it from participating in the coming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Commenting on the notice served by the EC on the BJP for releasing a provocative CD targeting a particular community, Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said the release of the CD by the BJP ahead of the assembly elections has exposed the true face of the saffron party.

Mr Singhvi said the CD has once again exposed the fact that what BJP appeared from the outside was actually its distorted form and the party actually believed in stoking communal tension.
