BHEL to pump in Rs 3,200cr in Hardwar plant

Hardwar, Apr 5 (UNI) BHEL will invest Rs 3,200 crore in its Heavy Electricals Equipment Plant at Hardwar to increase the manufacturing capacity from 3,750 MW per annum to 5,250 MW by the end of the next financial year.

''The company plans to expand and diversify the unit, by next three years the company will raise the capacity to 10,000 MW,'' Heavy Electricals Equipment Plant Group General Manager Anil Sachdeva told newspersons here today.

BHEL Hardwar registered a 21 per cent increase in its turnover at Rs 2,273 crore for fiscal 2006-07, as against Rs 1,874 crore for the same period last year.

The Group General Manger said the Profit Before Tax (PBT) of the unit rose to Rs 441.5 crore during the current fiscal year as compared to Rs 325 crore during the preceding year.
