AITC to take part in discussion if Nandigram figures

Kolkata, Apr 5 (UNI) The Trinamool Congress was ready to participate in an all party meeting if the Left Front government took up for discussion the issue of March 14 killing at Nandigram.

'' The government is mainly responsible for the Singur and Nandigram incidents. The government should own moral responsibility. We will attend if the Nandigram issue figures in the discussion, ''party MLA Sougata Roy told newsmen after the Trinamool's core committee meeting here today.

He said the Trinamol Congress-led Krishi Jami Raksha Committee had already informed the government in this regard.

'' We are also protesting CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat statement against party supremo Mamata Banerjee, '' he said.

Yesterday Mr Karat said in a statement that Ms Banerjee was more dangerous than even the Jamait-E-Ulema-E-Hind.

'' We are wondering how Mr Karat passed such remarks against Ms Banerjee, who always fight for the poor people, '' he stated.

Ms Banerjee today sent a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, demanding scrapping of 1894 Land Acquisition Act and SEZ, he added.
