A week-long awarness campaign by Jamaat-E-Islami-Hind

Hubli, Apr 5 (UNI) Jamaat-E-Islami-Hind Karnataka and Goa unit Chief and member of State Advisory Council Sayyed Abdul Haseeb today said that a week-long awareness campaign would be launched in Karnataka from April 7 in view of forthcoming elections to local bodies and Municipal Corporations.

Talking to newsmen here, he said after the campaign the unit would decide on the candidates it proposed to support. The organization would support only clean and honest candidates, belonging to political parties or even independents.

Mr Haseeb said as compared to Assembly and Parliament constituencies these local body constituencies would be small and easier for his organization to identify suitable candidates.

Replying to a question, he said that ''we will not contest elections, we only support good candidate.'' UNI
