Rebel JD-S fields 34 candidates in Uttar Pradesh

New Delhi, Apr 4: The rebel Janata Dal (Secular), headed by former MP Surendra Mohan, has come out with its first list of 34 candidates for the coming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

A party release said that five of them will be contesting from Lucknow, four from Pilibhit and three in Basti, two each in Barabanki, Sitapur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Meerut, Agra, Jalaun, Shahjahanpur, Unnao, Hardoi, Etah, Raibareli, Sidharth Nagar, Sultanpur, Jonpur, Azamgarh, Mau and Deoria districts. The party is likely to field ten more candidates.
